Steel Steps

Steel Steps manufactured by Better

We recently completed the manufacture of a set of Steel Steps and handrails.

This photo was when the Steps were nearing completion in our factory and before they were transported to our customer.

Contact the team at Better Engineering if you need a price. We can look at your drawings, or suggest a design.

We weld using the following methods

  • MIG – used in the workshop as the most cost effective fabrication method for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium components.
  • TIG – used with lighter gauge stainless steel and aluminium fabrications but can also be needed for welding aluminium castings, etc.
  • Electrode – used for welding situations where the area to be welded can’t be easily cleaned or for site welding where wind conditions can make MIG and TIG welding impractical. Also used for welding the likes of cast iron.
  • Silver Solder – commonly used for brass fittings, copper tube, etc and is also useful for joining dissimilar metals such as brass to stainless steel.

Pipe storage rack

Pipe storage rackWe recently completed the manufacture of a tremmie Pipe Storage Rack.

This project was carried out for a drilling company.

The rack was manufactured out of carbon steel and then painted.

The Pipe storage rack also had a access floor installed.

For projects like this, we usually work of plans supplied by our customer, but before we start manufacture, we always review drawings, and confirm every detail so that mistakes aren’t made.

Steel platform and grates

Steel platform

Steel platform

We recently fabricated and installed a large steel platform.

The Platform and handrails were hot dip galvanized.

We supplied workshop drawings after being supplied tender drawings.

Two curved recesses in the steel platform are where the tanks are to be installed later as per the circular pads on the floor.

Handrail sections installed in the two tank recesses are temporary, to be removed after the tank installation.

We recently completed a steel platform.

This project involved fabricating and installing the steel platform, stairs and handrail.

The platform, stairs and handrail were hot dip galvanized with handrails painted safety yellow as per specifications.

We also installed some of the pipework which included both on-site welding and bolting pipe sections into position.

The Better Engineering assisted with assembly and installation of some of the other various components.

Steelwork was installed into an existing waste water treatment plant at Kilcoy as part of an expansion of the plant.
